Drawing, art, and design have always been a part of Melissa’s life even though her formal education includes an undergraduate degree in finance and a graduate degree in applied economics. After having her daughter in 2014, Melissa’s priorities came into focus and it became clear that she needed to follow her gut and her heart and do what she was born to do. In 2016, Melissa started her interior design blog, Pretty Little Rowhouse, and in 2017 Melissa left her successful 12 year career in the financial services industry to officially launch her Washington, DC-based interior design studio, Sanabria & Co.

Growing up in historic Bucks County just outside of Philadelphia, Melissa developed an appreciation for old houses and all of their quirks, which laid the groundwork for her approach to design today. Melissa brings her warm and minimalist aesthetic, along with her lens for function, to create inviting, beautiful, and practical urban interiors by juxtaposing old and new. She serves busy families in Washington, DC, who share her penchant for old homes, quality craftsmanship, and beautiful design. Melissa resides in Capitol Hill with her husband, Alberto, and toddler, Beatrice.
