North Carolina Ave

We designed the dining room of this historic row home in Capitol Hill for a young family of four. As the physical center of the house, the dining room is the workhorse of the first floor. We enhanced the functionality and cozy factor of the space by adding a large custom banquette that lifts for storage. Note the oak trim detail on the lip of the bench. To create a visual break between the living and dining rooms, we incorporated a salvaged vintage cabinet into the design, which adds even more storage. We love using vintage and reusing whenever we can and we love how naturally this special piece fit into the space.
